This week, NASA released the first images from the James Webb Space Telescope. Mr. Glass Full is super into these kinds of things so he ran into the living room to alert me the moment they were released. Like many, we sat with the impossible vastness of it all. In a caption for the above image of literal galaxies, NASA said “these colliding galaxies are pulling and stretching each other in a gravitational dance". And I felt that. Because is that not exactly what we are here to do? Pull and stretch each other and ourselves in this gravitational dance of life?! When Mr. Glass Full and I have our same sticky argument that we’ve been having for 7 years, which stems from us being two different humans and therefore has no resolution (and maybe doesn’t need to). Pull. When someone you love reveals part of their soul and shares a story that has shaped them into who they are. Stretch. When I feel the ohsohuman pang of envy when someone has/does/is something that I want so desperately for myself. Pull. When I feel safe enough with someone to push my emotional vulnerability outside of its comfortable limits. Stretch. I love this about us as humans. How connected we are, how much we need each other, how we are all experiencing the same big emotions even when it doesn’t feel that way. Photos like this remind me that our existence is a tiny miracle and we are so clearly meant to be doing things together. We are celestial beings made of stardust. Colliding, pulling, stretching, dancing. It’s from this feeling that my newest offerings around ceremony and ritual were created. I believe that we are meant to spend our lives learning how to love one another well. We are meant to celebrate, acknowledge, honour, and make meaning of the moments we’re given on this Pale Blue Dot. A dear friend of mine is moving out of her home of 14 years to a new city. Together, we are crafting a ceremony with her nearest and dearest to honour this home and all of the life that it saw her through. If you have any moments that deserve to be seen, witnessed, honoured, or celebrated - hit reply to this email or fill out the contact form on my website to learn more about how I can support you.
