When this is over
How many times in the past year have you heard the words "when this is all over"?
For me it's often preceded by something along the lines of
I can't wait to hug...
I can't wait for us to have a cozy night on your couch...
I can't wait to make this recipe together...
I can't wait to meet your new little one...
Insert your "can't wait to", all are valid. All are different kinds of hard. This is not to say that life can't still unfold in beautiful and fulfilling ways amid grief and hardship. You are not on pause, you are still allowed to bloom and grow, but existing in that duality can be challenging in itself.
I have an ever-growing list of the things I am looking forward to doing when the time allows.
Sometimes this list comforts and energizes me and sometimes it makes me sad and angry. More duality.
If it's feeling tough this week, this month, this whole ass year - well, I see you.
Wish you were here, wish I was there. Wish we were together.
Hang in there 🤍🤍🤍
