I Honour my Unfurling

Some plant's leaves unfurl.

They simply expand from their curled up little twist, revealing fresh, new, shiny leaves.

Lately I have felt that I, too am unfurling. That's what this time of life feels like, settling into my first home with my boyfriend, being on the brink of Spring, the collective feeling of "caught between" as we all wait to see what life looks like on the other side. I am very slowly twisting out of a tightly woven curl. Sprouting anew, reaching for the sun.

It's easy to rejoice in the fully sprouted leaf while missing the magic of its unfurling. We regard times of transition, of settling, as places to be quickly passed through. I am trying to honour my unfurl. To allow myself to see the beauty and magic in the space between here and what's to come.
